The X-Rite i1Pro 3 Spectroradiometers are a good addition to any colour critical environment, and in combination with ColourSpace enables accurate calibration to be achieved for both projection as well as monitors via contact and non-contact use.

Light Illusion provides Display Only OEM versions of the i1Pro 3 probes.
The i1Pro 3 includes Spectroradiometer, Calibration Plate, Display Holder, Ambient Light Measurement Head, Tripod Holder, USB Cable, and Carry Case.
The i1Pro 3 Plus includes Spectroradiometer, Calibration Plate, Display Holder, and USB Cable.
(Note: no Carry Case, Tripod Holder, and no Ambient Light Measurement Head are provided with the i1Pro 3Plus.)
Both i1Pro 3 models include dark current measurement on sensor to reduce temperature drift and noise, and the protective lens glass can be removed for cleaning.
Built-in wavelength calibration technology performs a self-check of the position of the i1Pro 3's optical grating in respect to the sensor during the white calibration. Damaged instruments can be identified for required repair, while smaller shifts can be corrected automatically.
Note: the i1Pro 3 probes are extremely power hungry.
Never use the probes with a USB extension, and for the best results use a powered USB hub.

The only difference between the i1Pro 3 and the i1Pro 3 Plus, with regard to display calibration, is the aperture size.

For display calibration the difference is not really relevant.
As with all probes, i1Pro 3 operation and function is controlled via the Probe Options menu, accessed via the Profiling window.
The i1Pro 3 probes have no variables that are directly associated with the probes, other than Probe Calibration, plus generic probe settings such as Extra Delay Time, Probe Matching, Probe Offset, etc.
Calibration Settings provides generic probe settings, as well as the Probe Calibration option.
Average Low Light
Average Low Light is a probe generic option, that averages multiple readings in low-light situations using an advanced algorithm built into ColourSpace. The algorithm varies based on the probe in use to provide the best possible results.
The Probe Calibration button will save a calibration reading, made with the i1Pro 3 placed on its matched calibration plate.
Make sure the serial number on the calibration plate matches the i1pro 3 serial number.
Extra Delay Time
Extra Delay sets a time after the patch has been changed before probe measurement starts.
This can deal with delays in the image pipeline.
Probe Matching is really unnecessary with i1Pro 3 probes, as they are Spectroradiometers.

Probe Offset enables a user to manually enter offset values for different probes/display combinations.
Perceptual Colour Match is a preferable approach.
