All products include free software revision updates for all options purchased, for the life of the product.

New software modules and alternative product options are separately chargeable, as are new software releases.

Licenses, Upgrades & Revisions

All Light Illusion software tools are single workstation licensing, and use different forms of licensing depending on the actual software in use, with the license predominantly locking to the hardware and OS configuration of the system the software is installed on.

Any change in the PC hardware or OS configuration will result in the license registration locking-out, as to the license system this will appear to be a different PC from the original one the software was installed on..

Licenses cannot be installed on multiple systems simultaneously. To move a license to a new PC, please see 'PC Change' below.

Upgrades

The cost of upgrading from one LightSpace CMS license level to another varies depending on the age of the existing license, with a sliding scale upgrade charge applied based on license age.

Protection Error

Protection Error

If something is changed on the PC used to run LightSpace/SpaceMan/SpaceMatch you will see a 'Protection Error' warning.

The 'Protection Error' warning will likely be caused by a hardware based change (new additional hard drive, graphics card, etc.), but could be a major Windows OS change, or due to changes to the LightSpace/SpaceMan/SpaceMatch software. If the 'Protection Error' warning is due to a change in the LightSpace/SpaceMan/SpaceMatch software the associated download information provided when upgrading the software version will infom you of this requirement, so please, please, always read the provided information when upgrading!

When the 'Protection Error' warning is seen you will need to contact Light Illusion to request your License Registration to be re-set.

You will need to include your license code with any request for a re-set, as well as information on why the re-set is required: a hardware change to the PC; a large OS Update; replacing an old PC, etc., as well as your name and email address.

Note: The License Code must be provided as text within the body of an e-mail, not as a picture attachment.

A license reset will be performed as quickly as possible, often immediately, but can take up to 24 to 48 hours, depending on location and timing.

License Change or Reset

When upgrading or changing a LightSpace/SpaceMan/SpaceMatch license - for example from the Free LightSpace ZRO license to a paid for LightSpace license - it may be necessary to first delete the existing license.

  • Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Light Illusion\LightSpace CMS
    (Or C:\Program Files (x86)\SpaceMan or C:\Program Files (x86)\SpaceMatch)
  • Locate IPClient_uninstall.exe and Run

This will remove any existing licensing, and will enable the new update to be 'Activated' and Re-Licensed with a new/different license when re-started.

Note: Should the above fail, navigate to C:\ProgramData\IProt, and delete the folders found there.

On occasion, you may also have a Protection Error. If so, please see above.


PC Change

If moving a LightSpace/SpaceMan/SpaceMatch license to a new PC, due to a PC failure for example, you will need to contact Light Illusion to request the License Registration to be re-set to enable reactivation on the new PC.

Before requesting a license re-set for a new PC make sure any previous installation has been uninstalled, or the license re-set will fail.

Remember to include your license code with the request for a re-set, as well as information on why the re-set is required: a hardware change to the PC; a large OS Update; replacing an old PC, etc., and the License Code must be provided as text within the body of an e-mail, not as a picture attachment.

For MatchLight licenses, a replacement license will need to be requested as a different licensing approach is used.

On-Selling Licenses

Any purchased Light Illusion license can be on-sold to a new user by the current owner.

There is a 10% of book-price fee for any re-sold license. Contact Light Illusion to verify the actual price beforehand.
