LightSpace Plugins & Integration
Various DI system, LUT Box and Display manufacturers have partnered with Light Illusion to enable LightSpace CMS to be used for closed-loop calibration, helping to ensure accurate colour matching for the whole creative DI pipeline.
However, such closed-loop calibration is not strictly necessary for accurate calibration, as LightSpace CMS also provides a 'Display Independent Profiling' mode (DIP) that uses Calibration EDLs to automatically build the required time-line within DI and grading systems.
DI System Integration
3rd Party DI System integration allows LightSpace to control the image output of the system, ensuring the correct calibration flat is displayed as required. With LightSpace CMS running on a laptop it can calibrate any display on the same network if the DI system is capable of LightSpace CMS Integration.
With most DI system integration the manufacturers include the necessary links within their systems. The only different system is Scratch from Assimilate, as the integration is performed via a Light Illusion developed plug-in, which can be downloaded via the Downloads page.
LUT Box Integration
LUT Box Integration allows LightSpace to tell the LUT Box what colour patch to display, and when, while a probe connected to the LightSpace PC reads the values of the displayed colour patches. This means the LUT Box is closed-loop calibrated, rather than the display device being calibrated stand alone. The result is a higher level of calibration guarantee, and a speed increase in the time taken for profiling.
Direct Display Integration
Direct Display Integration allows LightSpace to tell the display what colour to present, and when, while a probe connected to the LightSpace PC reads the values of the displayed colour patches. This means the display is closed-loop calibrated, resulting in a higher level of calibration guarantee, and a speed increase in the time taken for profiling.
When connected, any colour patch selected within LightSpace CMS - Calibration or Characterisation options - will be seen on the output of the integrated 3rd party system.
