A new Parametric EOTF page has been added to the website:

https://www.lightillusion.com/parametric_eotf.html

The example shown provides a small Near Black Lift to a standard Rec709 EOTF.
This would be useful for displays that clip near black.

The new example has been added to the example Parametric Gamma Download, in addition to the more exaggerated Roll-Off example.

Hi Steve

Thanks for the article. Can you explain what the difference is between ig and og?

The <ig> and <og> values are input and output values, based on the EOTF in use.
They are defined as the <point> info.
So, for an EOTF of 1.0, <ig>=<og>.
For any different EOTF value, <og> will be the <ig> value, after passing through the defined EOFT.

A Parametric EOFT Calculation modal has been added to the Parametric EOTF page.

Great, thanks Steve. Especially the Parametric EOTF Calculation modal is super helpful, I was already sifting through the net to find the right information on how to compute the appropriate <og> value.

Yet another new example colour space has been added to the example Parametric Gamma Download.
This example is a pure 2.4 EOTF, but using an underlying Gamma of 1.0, with 33 Parametric Points defined.

Note: as Parametric EOTF values are simply a change to the underlying <gamma> value, if <gamma> is set to 1.0 each Parametric <point> value will be connected linearly.
