Multi-Primary Colour Engine

ColourSpace includes a selection of unique pre-set Characterisation Quick Profile patch sets that include Secondary Colours. When these patch sets are used, a totally different Multi-Primary colour engine is used during LUT Generation.

These + Patch Sets are especially suitable for WOLED displays, such as for LG TVs, but generate superior results with any displays compared to alternative calibration systems.

When a LUT is generated using these profiles, a unique Multi-Primary Colour Engine is used, enabling calibration accuracy far in excess of alternative options for such small patch set profiles. Often, generating results that are close to, or even equal to, large volumetric patch set profiles.

User generated .csv patch sets can also be used to enable the Multi-Primary colour engine during LUT generation.

Hi! A naive question, quite likely. This Multi-Primary colour engine can be applied to all sorts of patch sets, theoretically?
Because it gets about 98% of the results of a 5,000+ patch set with 141 measurements. I wonder what it could do with, say, 250. Or even 500. It would still be one tenth of what we use for LG OLEDs.

Maybe this 141 patch set is the most that the new engine can make use of, I don't know.

Thank you!

No, the Multi-Primary colour engine is what it says.
It works with 'multiple primary' patches - RGBCMYW, with any number of patches in the ramps.
It is effectively a step towards the full colour engine, which is enabled when there are patches other than RGBCMYW ramps.

So adding any other 'colour' patches will enable the full colour engine.

Ok, thank you for clarifying. Ted already answered me on this on AVS but I wasn't sure I understood correctly.
