I have been looking into ColourSpace and Mackbook Air, with the new M1 ARM chip.
This uses an ARM based development version of Windows, and is not guaranteed by Microsoft to work for any standard Windows programs.

There are also many, many reports of issues with USB forwarding with the Parallels version used with Mac Big Sur, and the M1 chip.

Consequently, there is no guarantee for ColourSpace working with such systems at this time.
The tests I have performed show that the main issues encountered is with Probe Connections.

If any users have a M1 Mackbook Air, and have been able to get probe connection to work please post information here.

The potentially good news is that I have been discovering these issue as I now have a M1 Mackbook Air, in readiness for the final development work on making ColourSpace Linux/Mac native, as has been planned from the beginning.

And no, we do not have timescales for this - so please do not ask!

First off, it's a market ready for native apple silicon calibration software as they are none native supported software for the m1 everyone are using rosetta2 to run.

Second, with macOS 12 and iOS 15 you can airplay to the mac's and then you can use LightSpace connect as a pattern generator

You can even if you want choose in AppStore connect that users can install LightSpace connect on there m1 mac's

NEWS UPDATE!

After researching this farther, there is no issue with ColourSpace and Macs using the new M1 ARM chip, when using Parallels.
ColourSpace works perfectly.

However, X-Rite probes will not work, as it appears the X-Rite drivers are not compatible with Windows for ARM.

Alternative probes, such as Colourimetry Research work correctly.

Please feel free to contact X-Rite, requesting compatible drivers are released.

We have not tested all hardware ColourSpace is integrated with, and it is possible other displays/TPGs/LUT Boxes many not be compatible with Windows for ARM... for example it appears FTDI drivers are not compatible.

Please add to this thread should you test and verify other hardware.

I'm not sure what you really mean, but the present X-Rite drivers will not work with the ARM version of Windows.
You cannot even install them.
We are in discussion with X-Rite regarding this.

ANOTHER UPDATE.

I managed to get Beta FTDI drivers from FTDI directly.
(They are not openly available, and we cannot pass them on to anyone.)

They worked with the Murideo SIX-G, and I assume will work with any other hardware that used FTDI drivers...
With luck, new drivers will be openly released in the near future.

The FTDI driver will obviously not fix the X-Rite probes issue.

My English was not so good I did mean I'm sure that X-Rite are working on a ARM drive now when Windows 11 will come with ARM license.

This is great! I have M1 and well let's just say what I want to use calibration software with it

We have now been told by X-Rite that 'Windows for ARM' drivers are not a priority for them...
It is looking unlikely there will be a solution.

That's sad but x-rite are working on the apple silicon driver.
You can always port you software to macOS ;)

OTOH, if one wants a tested solution that works now - drivers, software, and all - one could always use a PC-based laptop...

Latest news.
The M1 Macbook Air I am using for our testing has just been updated to the latest version of Windows 11 - the latest ARM version.
(As well as the latest version of Parallels)
The default X-Rite drivers for the i1Display Pro are now working!
(Have not yet tested the i1Pro 2/3)

It's done nothing for the crap colour of the Mac screen though...

This is great news. Was the drivers installed bundled with light illusion or did you need to download the drivers by the side and install them?

Hi Steve,
I have been running ColourSpace on M1 Mac with Parallels and Win11 with no issues.
Since the last CS update, I am getting the attached error message when launching CS. After pressing ok button, the window closed and CS does not start.

Any clue from your side?

Thanks a lot

Manuel
