A new ColourSpace release has just been uploaded

ColourSpace Main

1.0.0.1337 – incremental changes
-- Changed operation for LUT Generation from Extended Range profiles
-- Added option to Normalise Code Range during LUT Generation
(Both the above will assist in enabling PQ based HDR calibration with full range LUTs, as well as
enabling LUT re-scaling - Video Scale - without secondary processing)
-- Advanced Processing Algorithm improvements made to Colour Engine

The changes to Extended Range LUT Generation are a key change, as from our own testing all calibration systems perform this incorrectly.
With an Extended Range calibration the 235 (8 bit) level remains 100%, with overrange going beyond that, up to 109%.
This change to ColourSpace means Extended Range LUTs are now generated totally correctly, maintaining 235 (8 bit) as the target 100% white point.

Further, this change to ColourSpace will enable both the advanced Limit Range approach to PQ HDR calibration to be fully automated in the near future, as well as enabling the ability to have full-range LUT calibration for any display with any peak luma value.
(Display manufacturers will need to adopt this new approach, and should, as it will bring far greater calibration accuracy to PQ based HDR.)

Note: old Extended Range profiles are no longer valid, and will not work with the new Normal/Extended options.

The Advanced Processing Algorithm improvements made to the ColourSpace Colour Engine are part of our ever ongoing work to continue to improve the calibration results ColourSpace can attain. Initial testing has shown real benefit from these latest improvement.
(More real-world testing is appreciated, so please provide you feedback as always!)

Incremental, but highly significant Steve. Thank you. Bold I am particularly pleased with and I am quite curious to try the new gamut coverage algorithm.

It is worth noting that the Progress Bar for LUT Generation and for Gamut Coverage only starts after any data expansion has been completed.
So, for example, a Quick Profile Grey Ramp RGB profile, with a large number of Grey Ramp points, will be expanded to a 44^3 data set before the LUT Generation/Gamut Coverage calculation starts.

The Progress bar will therefore not start to move before the 44^3 data set has been extrapolated from the Quick Profile.
And that can take some time...
