To help understand the new Layouts and Presets capabilities, here is an Example that can be used to test/explore the capabilities.

Download the Layouts & Presets Example .zip file below, and unzip to your desktop.
(The Download will be called something else when downloaded...)
The Zip file contains two files.

  • 1920x1080_Rec709_Legal_8bit_i1D3_PGen_GreyOnlyPreset.lyt
  • GreyOnly-8bit-Legal.csv

The .lyt file is a Layout, defined for a HD screen size PC, set for Rec709 target colour space, using Legal Range in 8bits, with an i1Display Pro probe (any version if the Alternate DLLs are installed), using PGen as the TPG, and will load the provided GreyOnly-8bit-Legal.csv Preset patches into Manual Measure.

Before the Layout is used, the GreyOnly-8bit-Legal.csv CSV file will need to be loaded into the Manual Measure, Presets option.
It need not be selected/active, as the Layout will do that when it loads.

Load the .lyt file into the Layouts menu, and select it from the Drop-Down, and then press the Profiling icon.
The Profiling window will be configured as per the Layout file data.
Navigate to Graph Options menu, and select Restore from the Graphs options.
The pop-put Graphs will populate the screen, as per the Layout file, and will look as follows.
(The Layout menu will not show the Summary automatically. )

Are the layouts always like this, as separate windows on a desktop? Is there any option to have them hosted in a master window that you can clear out of the way / move to another monitor in one go without having to minimize each window?

If you have 'multiple' monitors, they can be anywhere, on any monitor...
So you can have a full-size graph on one monitor, and smaller graphs on a second, etc.
When you re-load the same Layout on a PC with the same display configuration, it will recall the graph positions.
No limits...

Kinda like this:

Sorry, I really do not understand?
What do Layouts & Presest have to do with a JVC projector?
Sorry - I just don't understand the question.

Sorry Steve, I don't remember where I downloaded this compressed file (Layouts_and_Presets_Example) from anymore, but I remember it was for TV (5123_1_o.rar). Inside there were 2 files (GreyOnly-8bit-Legal.csv and 1920x1080_Rec709_Legal_8bit_i1D3_PGen_GreyOnlyPreset.lyt). Then there was a link back to this page for further clarification

The download is on the first post in this thread.
It is just a couple of examples.

The 'Layouts' are just the setting of ColourSpace, saved into a Layout file.
When you have configured ColourSpace to your requirements, you just save a new Layout yourself.
You can then share your Layouts with other users, if you want - as per the examples here.

There are also other Presets Patch Lists examples available from the Customer Downloads page.
And any user can make any Presets they want to make.
See: https://www.lightillusion.com/advanced_operation.html#csv

We do not make specific Layouts or Presets for any displays - that is down to the user to generate.

Okay, Steve, it's all clear to me now. But I'm pretty sure the link wasn't from this thread. I got to this discussion thanks to the link I told you before.
Thanks
Giuseppe

I guess someone has posted the link elsewhere?
This thread is the only official place for the link.
