I posted this on AVS, as well as sent an email to Ted:

Updated to 1.0.0.994 this morning to try to remedy an issue I was having with v949 last night. When choosing to do repeat measures on a single colored patch value from a Preset CSV, the color value changes after the first measure. It either changes to another color in the CSV or to a gray scale patch with the associated values ( eg 180 180 180) I am using Ted's Patchsets posted for use with the versions >1.0.0.885.

This occurs both on the internal patch and via Pgenerator.

It occurs on both versions 994 and 949.

It occurs only on colors, not gray scale measurements.

Choosing the respective color in Manual Measure via the sliders will allow Repeat measure as usual, but using the preset CSV value causes the issue.

Occurs in all the color spaces I used, Rec709, REC2020, etc.

*It can be remedied by going to manual measure and unchecking the three "linking" boxes at the bottom, then going back to the CSV and choosing to Repeat Measure. Going back and linking RGB sliders doesn't seem to affect the repeat measures.

Here are couple videos of the issue:

Thanks - have replicated the bug.
We'll get it fixed.
Presently rather busy with some new developments, so not sure when the next release will be.
(So unlink the Sliders for now.)

I'm sure it's related, but FWIW in your debugging process.. I had thought the Gray scale measurements were not affected, but I was wrong. Today as I was calibrating, gray patches would move back to the prior patch when I selected a new one while on repeat and using a preset csv. This was also with all sliders unlinked in manual measure.

Hope that helps, I'll keep my eyes out for future updates.

I've run more test, and it seems you have a mismatch between the Preset Patch List, and the Patch Scale settings.
As the User Guides state, they must match.
Can you verify that please?
Also, make sure you are not mixing % sliders with Integer patch scale values that do not align correctly with % values.

Interesting. I'll take another look this evening and report back.

I'll be happy to send the gray scale patch set to you via email. It was created in 16-255 patch scale (on an older version of ZRO) by manually mapping each 20pt adjustment to the peak green value and recording it in a csv. This is the csv I was using yesterday, with ZRO set to Extended, when I was experiencing the gray scale errors during repeat measures.

I leave % sliders off all the time, and only use integer values.

Ted's patch sets are in Legal range, so I'll take a closer look.

-- As a side question --

What issues may arise from doing gray scale calibration in extended range, and primary and secondary in legal range, as these are the respective patch sets I have.

I don't have enough experience with patch set creation to create my own patch sets for 75/75 Primary and Secondary, etc etc.

Thanks again

As per the User Guides (Patch Scale & Resolution specifically), all patch values are absolute.
So whatever value is in the patch will be the value measured, if it is not being clipped.

So, if you put up a patch that is, say, (235,0,0), which is 100% Legal Range Red, when you have Patch Scale set to Extended or Full, you will not be measuring 100% red, as that would be (255,0,0)

Thanks Steve -- sorry I wasn't more clear. I understand that the patches are not scaled now, and are presented as listed. Better put, I was thinking through if there was any harm in performing gray scale calibration at Extended range, with corresponding CSV's, then switching settings to Legal, and using corresponding CSV's for 16-235 for primary and secondary. I think the answer is no, there is no harm, as long as the csv and settings in ZRO match.

--Circling back--

I did some further testing, and can confirm the csv patch sets correspond to the Patch Scale/Resolution in settings and do not have % enabled. Additionally, I can reproduce the issue by "linking" the three sliders in manual measure, and remedy it again by "unlinking" them.

In regards to the gray scale issues, I realized that one cannot select a new patch during repeat measures while the stabilisation window is up. Not sure if that is a bug or intended behaviour, but that is what it is.

Yes, if a Stabilisation patch is being displayed, you will not be able to change the Patch Colour of the measure patch.
Measurement patches can only be changed when a measurement patch is being displayed.

Hi Steve,

The extended range plots seem to be goofed on this release.

Similar behavior in the dE and Clip plots.

Edit: also auto luma in extended range doesn't seem to pick up 255 as 100%. It sets the 235 measurement as the target.

That is actually because of a major addition coming to ColourSpace soon...
Extended is actually 109% range, so the graph is basically correct.
(100% white is obviously 235 8 bit, not 255, when using Extended - so any user patch set will need to make sure it has a 235 patch.)

Although, I wasn't aware a bit of the new 'stuff' had slipped in to this build...
But we will be leaving it for now, while we work on the new features for Extended and PQ HDR profiling and calibration.
We may be able to do a partial 'update release' to fix the graphs, but am not sure at this time...
