webdove:
In the profiling subsystem there is a tab called manual measure that has sliders to select the patch color and measurement results. In the results section there is a 3x3 table which has Y x y rows and Target Actual Deviation columns. It would be helpful if there was a version of the table with R G B rows instead.

That is actually impossible. RGB values are not measured by the probe; they are input patch stimulus values only.

And unfortunately, putting up a black patch will cause as much 'change' in the screen as any other patch - just differently.
The display will cool for example, and that will cause as much change as anything else.
I do understand where the request is coming from, but it's not actually the real answer.
I guess ideally, running a fast - full screen - patch set, with varying patch colours, is likely the best idea...
But that's not something that can't be added easily/quickly.

I will add the idea to the WIBNI list!

That seems very odd. I thought there was a 1-to-1 transformation between Y x y and RGB.

No, not at all!
RGB is the patch triplet values - nothing else.

Think about this...
On a perfect Rec709 display an input RGB patch of 0,255,0 (8 bit) will be 100% green, and will generate a Yxy set of values that are 71.5169, 0.3, 0.6
While on a perfect P3 D65 display, the same input RGB patch of 0,255,0 (8 bit) will be also 100% green, but will generate a Yxy set of values that are 69.1739, 0.2650, 0.69

I agree with your statement, but you are referring to two different display color space configurations. I am referring to a single color space configuration.

If I am measuring rec709 with an RGB target, I can translate a Yxy display actual value to a unique RGB display actual value that should match the stimulus RGB value. Is that true?

Sorry, no.
The potential for Luma variations is a good example.
While 100 nits is the Rec709 standard, many choose to calibrate to other peak luma values.
So its not possible translate that back into RGB values.
The same is true of black.
RGB black is 0,0,0, which is 0,0,0 Yxy
But all displays have a black that is above zero, so have actual Yxy values...
It is just not possible...

Ah sorry. Google reported a bundle message as 6 days old. In my excitement I did not notice that was wrong and it was actually a post from March-2020.

Just very pleased to see you are getting such great results.
Saw your posts on AVSforums too.
All looks good.
This is what we intend with ColourSpace. To be far better than alternative calibration systems.

Hi Steve,

It does not look like displaycalibrations.com has their colourspace beta forum up yet.

I just tried upgrading from 937 to 949 and 967.
I uninstalled the previous one each time.

937 works.

949 and 967 start the initial window ok.
Clicking space management brings up that window ok.
Clicking LUT tools brings up that window ok.
Clicking Profile causes colourspace to crash without any error message in about 1 second.
I tried installing 949 and 967 several times with the same results.

Do you have any suggestions as to where I could start to diagnose this problem?

Thanks

We have no known issues, so it would seem to be specific to your setup.
As such, I have no idea what your issue is.
All I can suggests is checking your Windows 10 OS is fully up-to-date.
But, as per the installation instructions, you do not need to uninstall when upgrading to a new version.

OK. All my other programs are working and I have the latest windows update.
I will try uninstalling and removing all known colourspace folders to see if that works.
There are no log files for colourspace?
