Hello! I consider myself fairly 'techie' but display calibration is quite the rabbit hole.

I have a home theater with an Epson 5040UB projector that I would like to calibrate and intend to purchase an x-Rite i1Display Pro Rev B to aid in this. The Idiot's Guide to Manual Display Calibration on this site is the most straightforward guide to calibration that I've found. It's really awesome.
What I'm not clear on is- can Lightspace ZRO and the guide can be used to calibrate for UHD HDR10+? If not, can someone point me to a similar straightforward calibration solution for my projector? Thanks.

But, HDR calibration is really an oxymoron.
Especially if not using a LUT.

Ideally you need a LUT based calibration approach - such as using a Lumagen LUT box, or madVR, etc.

Thanks Steve. I read through that guide and it made me wish for an idiot's guide version! Would using an HDfury along with everything else as explained in the Idiot's Guide to Manual Display Calibration work?

Do you have a LUT box?
If so, then yes, the concept is basically the same.

i know obviously that having a lut box is ideal, but if you dont what is the best way to go about it steve?

Whats the most cost effective lut box for a living room tv that will handle 4k hdr?
