I keep being asked to help people evaluate different calibration systems, when compared to LightSpace CMS.
I normally answer rather in-depth, and long winded...
But, there is a very simple way to assess the likely underlying calibration capabilities of any system.
All that is needed is to check if you have to set the target colour space (gamut and gamma) before starting the display profiling process.
If you must set the target colour space before profiling the underlying colour engine is not going to be as good as it should/could be.
With LightSpace CMS you can profile without any need to know the target colour space in advance. The profile will then show you what the display is actually doing, and then you can set any target and build a LUT to match to that as best is possible.
This is a very, very simple way to assess the real underlying capabilities of any calibration system.
Hope this is of interest.
