Macbook Pro with Calibration Client and Weird Gamma Response

Macbook with Yosemite running Calibration Client connected to sRGB calibrated monitor via DP (PV270) and when I have the calibration client on screen it has a gamma response more like 2 or less than 2.2. Resolve test generator in Resolve GUI window is perfect. Looking at greyscale patterns in viewer is perfect gamma 2.2. On the Mac display and the PV270 (with NULL icc profile and triple checked) the white measures exactly the same as the white on the greyscale pattern but at cv 117 for instance the image measures about 21nit, as does Resolve GUI but the Cal client measures 29nit. So, I can have the Resolve pattern gen and the cal client being driven by Lightspace over the top of each other and they are different.

From Windows the same setup (using HDMI instead of DP) it is perfect, any ideas?

Updated Java on the Macbook, rebooted and all good.
