But technically I can use in-built Eizo probe and software Lightspace? are the results to be disappointing?

No, LightSpace will not use the inbuilt probe - it is not accurate enough.

Ok, now I understand.
The last question please, thank you for your patience: according to your experience that opinion / value you can give to the use of eizo cg246/76 for color grading (or old 245/75) provided that it is calibrated externally via lighstpace?
I would like to know more about what you think about the potential of this monitor after "best calibration possible".

With good calibration the monitors are as good as many others in the same price point.
With LightSpace you will get the best calibration possible.
What the LightSpace integration has done is make sure you get the best out of the display.
More so than with the previous calibration possible with these displays.
With this you will get the best possible accurate colours - and if the accuracy is reported as good by LightSpace then the display will be as good as possible.

Steve, can you tell me if Lightspace also works on the monitor eizo cx240/70? from the websites of eizo I can not read even if this monitor has the ability to write/upload internally the 3d lut from lighstpace
I can not use the HDLink to load a lut after the problem you reported.

I don't think the CS or CX series can do 3D LUTs, but this is really a question for Eizo.

I'll ask for a definitive list of Eizo displays that can be 3D LUT calibrated.

Thanks steve, I have searched the internet for an answer but still have not found it.
However, it seems a very controversial topic.
I tried to translate 6 pages of this thread that is not in my language:

http://mva.pl/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=968

where I assume that users have found the solution but unfortunately I do not understand the conclusion.
From what I read they also have tried to ask directly to eizo who denied the ability to upload 3dlut internally in the model CX240.
Although this seems to me to guess that it is just a software limitation.
For this reason I asked you if you can access the 3dlut the CX240 via lighstpace.
In the end I believe more in your reply that in that of eizo.

I've just spoken to Eizo...

The ONLY monitors with 3D LUT capability are:

CG222W, CG222W, CG242W, CG242W, CG223W, CG223W, CG275W, CG246, CG276

Some Eizo monitors have a simple RGB LUT (a 1D RGB LUT for colour temp/gamma only) and a 3x3 matrix, so they are not suitable for accurate calibration as we understand it - and cannot use 3D LUTs.

This seems to be the rest of the Colouredge range of display, so including the CX240/70.

Steve, thank you for the clarification.
It means that I will choose between a model CG.

BM today updated the software hdlink.
In the news I read about a solution to the distortion of the lut over dvi.
Steve, it is possible that the problem you have revealed is resolved?

I do not know...

What's new in HDLink Utility 3.5.3

· Fixed a rare bug where embedded audio from DVI Extender may be distorted on certain monitors
· Fixed an issue with LUT on SDI output may not be active when the DVI output is not connected

Another thing Steve, I'm sorry if I return for a moment to talk Eizo CX series.
I found this posting on the forum reduser:

"Mike Halper

I have a CX240 (same as a CG246 minus what I feel are a few unnecessary features for me). I go Thunderbolt to Decklink HD Extreme 3D+ (in a Sonnet enclosure) to a HDLink Pro Displayport to the CX240 via Displayport cable. Calibrated using my i1 Display Pro with the Eizo Color Navigator software, which writes the calibration to a hardware 16bit 3D LUT built into the monitor. Works great!"

But if Ezio says that the monitor CX240 can not be loaded 3D LUT internally as it is possible that Mike Halper says the opposite?

Doesn't sound like they have fixed the LUT distortion issue... so no, not fixed I think

The CX240 cannot use 3D LUTs - so that post is incorrect.
The CX240 uses a 1D LUT and a matrix. Not at all accurate enough for critical colour work as gamut cannot be controlled accurately throughout the brightness range.
