A very nice message from a new ColourSpace Beta Program user

Let's talk about magic now

Not my first BBQ in terms of Beta even Alpha testing, and...
Well, I've seen many bugs, on cameras (even the Arri D-20 and D-21) was the first to shoot a feature with the prototype...
And also with Iridas I was user no.3 on SpeedGrade and still working with Adobe on a few projects.
And more recently as a beta tester for the Panasonic S1H.
You see, I'm a camera person...
That has been said, the ColourSpace is not an upgrade, it's a completely new interface recoding with the ability to multi-task the calibration process.
The only thing that I notice is that the patches are not on 'automatic' so you have to search for the problem, but when it is done, I found nothing... nothing wrong. I'm using it very simply, but I was expecting bugs, where are they?

Thank you for this extraordinary coding!!!

One word: WOW

And again: WOW

There is still hope with people like you!

Obviously this is not about me, but the team that I work with within Light Illusion. They are the key in getting ColourSpace (and LightSpace before it) to be so stable, even when in Beta development...

Another status update for ColourSpace

We were intending to finish the Beta Program at the end of this month, but as with bringing forward the addition of Probe Matching as a post-profile function, we have decided to bring forward another development that was originally slated for v2 ColourSpace.

There will be a sneak-peak at this new addition shortly, so keep an eye here...

When starting ColourSpace from the 1st August you will likely see the attached warning message.
This is because the Beta License has been extended beyond the original end of Beta Program date.
Just click OK, and then re-start ColourSpace.
The original Beta License will be shown, and will be valid.

Another example of the new MultiGraphs - the same graph can have multiple size/position data remembered, as shown here with RGB zooms into the CIE graph.
(Each size/position is recalled when the graph icon is 'Ctrl Clicked')
We will add the ability to save/recall layouts later.

Installation Notes
ColourSpace Installer will completely overwrite any previously installed version, not just update it.
It will not require to un-install older releases before installing a newer version.

Update Notes
While ColourSpace is working in beta, when the users will start ColourSpace, it will not pop-up notification to inform for the availability of newer beta.
However, I will update this thread but also refresh the form page with release notes text per each beta.

With MultiGraphs, you can open up to 4 windows of the same graph type, and each will remember its screen position, as well as the zoom/position of the graph data.
(We will add the ability to 'save' layouts, and recall them.)

We will be also making some further changes, with the graphs working on an invisible grid, like the Patch Window, which will also enable us to remove the top bar on each graph window.

We also hope to add 'settings' into each window, like the HSL/Chroma Only controls in the Bars Widget... but we're still thinking on the best way to do that.
(And what controls will actually be added...)

A quick note for beta testers that suffer a continuous/repeatable crash.
(Although this is extremely rare!)

The settings for ColourSpace are save into a config.ini file, held in: C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\ColourSpace, where XXX is the user name.
Therefor if a crash is contentious it is possible the fault is in the config.ini file.

We will need a copy of that config.ini file, and the user can then delete it, as when ColourSpace is restarted it will build a new one.
(But all 'Settings' will default to their 'clean' startup values.)

There is a crash on the latest Beta with Probe Match, 'Configuration'.
The crash is associated with the 'Ref Probe'.

To avoid the crash, ONLY select a Ref probe AFTER both probes have been measured!

To be fair, when 'measuring' probes in 'Configure' there should NEVER be a probe selected in 'Ref Probe', when performing a probe measurement, JUST IN CASE the Ref Probe data affects the measurements being taken. That SHOULD NEVER happen, but... just in care it is a good practice to get into to NOT have anything selected in the Ref Probe dropdown, until you have both the Tristimulus and Spectro probes measured.

Hi everybody, 1st time posting on this forum. I have a question about popping out the graphs on the side. I've seen it done on the videos, but am unable to do it myself. Also, I would also like to know how to zoom in on the graphs so that I can see up close how things are looking. I did just learn how to edit my 11 point grayscale to be a 2 point grayscale, thanks Ted.

Ctrl + Mouse (touchpad) Left Click on the graph icon for the pop-out graphs.
When graph is open, use Mouse (touchpad) Left Click, and mouse/touchpad move/scroll for position.
And Mouse (touchpad) Right Click, and mouse/touchpad up/down for zoom.

With the 3D graphs, Mouse (touchpad) Left Click performs rotate.
Mouse (touchpad) Right Click performs zoom.
And Ctrl + Mouse (touchpad) Right Click performs position.
