ASUS have now provided us a viable SDK/API for the PA32UCX display, as well as the display itself.
We should have LightSpace/ColourSpace integration in the coming week or so.

We have the LightSpace side of things done, but have discovered an issue with the ASUS side of things.
ASUS are working on that now.

Shame, was looking forward to testing. If it comes good by Tuesday next week (Aus) then let me know and I'll give it a run.

We have just received an updated API/SDK, and new PA32UCX Firmware from ASUS.
With the changes ASUS have implemented at our request we now have LightSpace integration fully working.

When ASUS release the new display firmware the latest release of LightSpace will be compatible.

Hi Steve - I've got the Pa23UCX-K, Ultrastudio 4K Mini, i1Display Pro and a 16" MacBook Pro is on the way. Once Asus releases the firmware, what else will I need to purchase to calibrate the monitor? 🐥 Thanks!

You will need a valid LightSpace license (and a Windows system to run it on), and a suitable probe, or probes.
The LightSpace license level, and probe(s), is a decision you need to make based on your own calibration requirements.

See: https://www.lightillusion.com/probe_use.html

Hi Steve, did you have a chance to run some tests on the monitor? How does ist look like?

The display looks as expected for a zoned backlight HDR display.
And is a lot better than the Apple display!

Hi Steve, on the new version PA32UCX-P Asus claim that there is a uniformity compensation 5x5 in their software.
https://www.asus.com/Monitors/ProArt-Display-PA32UCX-P/overview/
Will this tool be compatible in someway with Lightspace Calibration?
Many thanks
Luca

As uniformity compensation causes the blacks to be lifted, it is not considered part of calibration.
If used, it should be applied pre-calibration.

Ok thanks I understand!
Did you have the opportunity to compare the uniformity after compensation of the three following models?
PA32UC
PA32UCX
PA32UCX-P
Thanks!

They are all basically identical...
You would need to purchase based on your own preference based on the small differences between the models.

Thanks for the information!
The PA32UCX seems a better option comparing to the PA32UC in terms of gamma coverage and with the Dolby Vision compatibility.
On the PA32UCX-P I don't see any significant improvements.

If you tested the PA32UCX could you share your impressions about it?

I am looking for a HDR grading monitor but the Eizo will be too expensive for me.
The PA32UCX seems quite good for the price, from the reviews I read on internet.
It seems to me the main issue is the uniformity, but I wonder if the uniformity tool of Asus really helps.
By the way I don't look for the perfection I don't do project for Hollywood, I am more on music videos or TV programs right now and hope to catch some Netflix programs in the future.
And of course I calibrate my monitor with Lightspace.
Many thanks!
