The X-Rite i1 Pro 2 Probe is true Spectrophotometer that can deliver quality results at an efficient price point, and performs well with all display devices, from projection to LCD, from plasma to CRT.

As part of its association with X-Rite Light Illusion is proud to be able to supply the i1 Pro 2 as a Display Only package, as a stand-alone probe, as well as combined with LightSpace CMS.

The i1 Pro 2 probe is an ideal addition to any colour critical environment, and in combination with LightSpace CMS enables accurate calibration to be achieved via direct display device measurement for both projection as well as monitors via contact and non-contact use.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Hi Steve,
great news! How deep in the testing, evaluating have you gone?
How would you roughly compare i1pro, i1pro2 and Hubble? The new i1pro2 is far more accurate then previous version, but what about comparing it with Hubble? As far as we get it the i1pro has a lack of speed. You need long profiling times, how is that in new version?
Thinking about selling the old one on eBay and ordering a new version quite soon, just waiting to see some more tests, responds...

Cheers

Hi Teo,
Evaluation has gone well - the probe is looking very good, especially at the price point for a real Spectrophotometer.
I have to say that so far it's not too slow - about 50% slower than the Hubble on LCD display.
Testing on projection Monday.
will keep you informed.

Hi Steve
Speed is a good point. What about specifications (Chromaticity, Luminance, Accuracy) : Have you some values or technical informations that can help us to compare ?

Hi Steve,

I assume the "DISPLAY ONLY PROBE" means that I can't use it for printers or other print related things.
Am I right, are there any other restrictions? How about guaranty and support from X-Rite?

Do you know the SpectraCal C6 Colorimeter? If so, how can it be compared to the i1Pro2 especially
in regards to calibrating a Sony OLED?

Thanks,
Gerhard

The Display Only probes do not include the stands, etc for print reading, but can be used for printers if you can read the printed colours without those components.

No 'restrictions' at all, except for the components supplied.
(See the list of components supplied with the i1 Pro 2 Display Only probe here: http://www.lightillusion.com/i1_pro_2.html

The probes come with all standard X-Rite guarantees and support.

The C6 is just an i1 Display Pro, so is a Tri-Stim device, and not a spectro.
(The standard i1 Display Pro does OLEDs too - nothing special with that regard.)

As for measuring OLEDs it is more down to the software (LightSpace CMS) rather than the probe.
(Although the probe will define the accuracy in the blacks, and such low-cost probes will never be that good, especially with OLEDs - we prefer the Klein K10-A as it is much better in the blacks!)
