By default, and due to X-Rite limitations (and nothing to do with Light Illusion), ColourSpace /LightSpace only work with the OEM version of the i1D3.
As stated, this is an X-Rite limitation - not a ColourSpace/LightSpace issue.

However, if you have one of the following versions of the i1Display Pro to use with LightSpace/ColourSpace, please talk to Ted at www.displaycalibrations.com for information on alternative drivers.

i1 Display Pro Retail
i1 Display Pro PLUS
ColorMunki Display
HP DreamColor
SpectraCAL C6, C6 HDR & C6 HDR2000
NEC SpectraSensor Pro
Quato Silver Haze 3
Wacom Color Manager
ASUS ProArt

X-rite advertises a new "black current substraction technology" for display with a low black floor (such OLEDs or JVC projectors). Is this purely a software trick with their own software, in which case it's of no interest, or does the i1displaypro Plus have a better sensitivity than the other probes near black? Just trying to get a confirmation that the probes are physically identical, including in their ability to read near black (which is the main limitation of the i1display pro compared to more able probes in this area).

As has been explained elsewhere, it was never implemented...
Marketing that never turned into an actual development.

Thanks for your quick reply.
So the hardware is the same?
Shame they still advertise a feature that was never implemented.

The OEM's are select on test, so tend to perform to tighter accuracy levels.
But the hardware is the same.
Just the firmware locking code is different.
