A new update is available for PGenerator, which fixes a double flash issue wit the displayed patch.

To update to this, use the PuTTY update process, as defined here:
https://www.lightillusion.com/pgenerator_manual.html

A new ISO will be made available shortly.

I'm pleased to announce that PGenerator 1.2 is now available.

Big Thumbs up to Ric (Developer of PGenerator) and the user 'docdudeus' for his help with Pi4 development.

PGenerator 1.2 now supports Pi4 Model B boards, available with 1/2/4/8 GB RAM for patch generation up to 2160p60.

However, we recommend the users to get the 2GB (or 4/8GB in case they need the additional RAM for other applications).

Pi4 with 2GB of RAM is enough for the PGenerator.

I have tested the Pi4 Model B with 2GB RAM using a digital signal raw data analyzer and double-checked using Accupel 6000 with engineer option also.

Below you can see an example of pixel analysis; it's the top left corner of the 100% Red patch with a video black background:

Pi4 Model B is bit-perfect with RGB-FULL setting @ Setting Template.

PGenerator 1.2 has been tested to work with Pi1, Pi2, Pi3, Pi4, Pi Zero, and Pi Zero 2 W.

For 2160p output, we recommend the Pi 4 Model B board.

For 1080p output, we recommend the Pi3 Model B+ board since it's the most powerful Pi3.

PGenerator 1.2 includes the fix for HCFR's 'not responding' issue and the latest changes in Network Manager introduced in November 2021 releases of ColourSpace/ColourSpaceZRO users.

Settings Template 1.2

Users can refresh their DeviceControl Cloud (Cloud -> Cloud Refresh), write 'connected' at the Cloud search (magnifier icon), and drag-n-drop the 'PGenerator 1.2 - Settings 1.2 Template' from the Cloud to their Local:

Settings Template 1.2 looks at the connected TV/Projector/Monitor EDID and lists the supported resolutions:

PGenerator will reboot after a resolution change, as always.

The YCbCr 4:4:4 / 4:2:2 options have been removed from the Settings 1.2 Template because they are not bit-perfect.

HDMI Connectivity Options

Most of Pi's are using the standard HDMI port; like Pi3, a standard HDMI 1.4 cable works fine.

Pi Zero uses a mini-HDMI port; users can get a mini-HDMI to Standard HDMI 1.4 cable.

Pi4 has two micro-HDMI ports, near the USB-C port.

The micro-HDMI port near the USB-C port supports up to 2160p60, and it will require a micro-HDMI to standard-HDMI 2.0 cable.

The micro-HDMI port away from the USB-C port supports up to 1080p60, and it will require a micro-HDMI to standard-HDMI 1.4 or 2.0 cable. (It's 1080p60 when 4K60p has enabled to the other port)

Connectivity Options

Users can connect to the PGenerator with:

1) Direct ethernet connection (Direct LAN)

2) Bluetooth; where available; with IP address 10.10.11.1

3) Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi); where available; connecting to SSID PGenerator and using IP 10.10.10.1

4) Wi-Fi configuring the device to connect to your Wi-Fi home network.

5) USB-C; using Pi4/Pi Zero, with IP 10.10.12.1 (it will require a non-e-marked USB-C cable for Pi4)

6) Ethernet; connecting the PGenerator to your ethernet network (will get an IP address with DHCP)

Note: When the NET 10.10 is used with a different device, the Settings Template 1.2 can change it:

Pi4 Case/Fan

Pi4 is a 'hot' device, and it is recommended to use a metal/aluminum case with passive or active cooling (fan).

PGenerator 1.2 has code (for all models) that can activate the default fan (5V+Ground and correct GPIO Pin as recommended from Pi documentation) for temperatures over 60 degrees. In comparison, it will turn it off automatically at 50 degrees.
