Letterbox monitoring on set via LUT?

I know we can use guide frame overlay on our monitors on set, but non can actually display the letterbox we are going to put over the image in post. Understandably as a DOP I want to see what is still above and below the eg 2:1 guid so we can notch the picture in post if needs be. But for our directors etc we would like to present them with an actual image WITH the letterbox on set. I have not yet found a small device that would be able to do that (any ideas) and was wondering if something like this could be done with a LUTBOX and a LUT?

No, a LUT cannot change specific areas of a screen.
It is global in operation.
