Hi Steve ... have downloaded and installed .840 version of ZRO, and validated with s/no ...

However when I launch the profiling it gives me a Colourspace has crashed error message and crash log report.

I know there's no direct support for ZRO but do you want to see a crash report and maybe help identify why ?

Thanks

Jon

That likely means you have old OpenGL drivers.
ColourSpace needs OpenGL 3.2 or later.
Check that first.
(But it shouldn't crash - we are looking into that.)

The best is to do a video of the steps from opening ColourSpace up until the crash.
We can then see what's happening.
The log is not really of much use, deliberately.
The overhead on logging all the info dramatically slows the operation of any software.
So we have a 'DEV' option that we can enable when needed, that will log more valid info.
(But in this instance I doubt we will need it - it does sound like the crash is when trying to draw the graphs.)

Thanks Steve

Seems to have Direct X drivers installed ... (see photo )

I have also run Open GL viewer which shows v old version of GL drivers - so guess laptop GPU isn't compatible/powerful enough to run ? ... (see photo)

Anyway have also attached video showing opening crash ...

thanks

Jon

Yes, the OpenGL is too old.
ColourSpace will not work with that - you need 3.2 or later.

Can I update to 3.2 or is GPU too old/underpowered ? ... W10 isn't showing any GL updates under its own update mechanism ?

You'll need to talk to the supplier of the GPU.
That's not something we can help with.

A very short, and sweet, comment from a new ZRO user:

I have now spent some time working with ZRO and am very impressed with how it works.

The user has also provided some very useful feedback, and we have already fix a bug he found (the fix will be in the next release)!

Been getting used to ZRO for the last couple days now and have to say that I really appreciate the control it offers over the probe, generator, and gamut. I've been able to use it to learn how all of the controls on my Samsung TV interact with the image displayed. I still feel like I have a lot to learn, but am getting there!

A few questions/issues:
  • Is there a cheat sheet for all of the keyboard shortcuts or mouse options? For instance, I just found in the guide today that ctrl+click on a graph icon does pop out.
  • I can't figure out how to get the graphs to zoom in, only pan.
  • When I load up custom patch lists, the measured points don't show up in the CIE or UV graphs unless they are close to White or RGBCMY. I will try to attach screenshots showing a 75% red that's not showing up in the graph, even though it's been measured, while a 100% red is graphed. Is this intended since ZRO is a pared-down version?

Please see the 'Interactive' User Manual: https://www.lightillusion.com/colourspace_manual.html
You'll find all info there.

For zoom, use Right Click.
And you likely do not have 'Others' selected in the Graphs options.

We are re-thinking our approach to ColourSpace ZRO.
More information to follow.
