SIM2 Multimedia S.p.A., the Italian manufacturer renowned for the high quality of the images generated by its projectors, has introduced a new product line dedicated to the Post Production world, and specifically to Colorists and Color Grading applications who don't need to use the big devices dedicated to Official Cinemas and large screens. The new product line is based on 4 models, all of them being 3-chip-DLP, compact size, low power consumption, VIP Lamp based, Color Calibration accurate to the 3rd digit after the comma, to perfectly adjust x, y and Y on 7 independent colors. The projectors can illuminate screen surfaces up to something more than 4 mt wide, keeping the quality of initial calibration for 1 year at least before changing the lamp. If a shorter lamp life is acceptable, then the screen size can be increased. Re-calibration is suggested every 4 months, but being very easy, it can be repeated even more frequently without problems.
Digital inputs available are 2 hdmi for all the models, and the HB and the Top are equipped to recognize the 3D mode and display 3D movies automatically.

The native Gamut of each filter is obviously wider than the target Gamut, to make it possible to perfectly position the color coordinates on the specs. Many additional controls are available through the internal Software, but the use of an external LUT Box, if desired, can ease the operations and bring further benefits in terms of accuracy. |
