My TV has 9 point gamma controls. I can get the first 7 points mostly flat, but the 8th point, and especially the 9th point, are behaving a bit weirdly. I can't get those points flat at all.

I used a 10% window.

Have you checked for channel clipping, and poor RGB Separation?

How do I check for channel clipping?

The RGB Separation graph is one straight line.

When I decrease the RGB gamma points for point 9, blue goes down but red and green go up. Not sure what's going on here.

If the RGB Separation graph is a sing;e straight line, that suggests you have not profiled using a sequence that shows RGB Separation.
You should read the User Guides on that - they explain the different reports that Quick Profile show.
And clipping can be checked via the 'Clip' graph.

Can you link me to the user-guide? If you mean the "Idiot's guide", I have already read that, twice, but didn't find anything that helped.

I'm completely new to this, so bear with me!

Are colours clipped when they go above the horizontal line in the clip graph? I only lowered the RGB values.

On the 'User Guides & Downloads' page look at the first two guides.
They are interactive - you can click on (most) of the buttons with the images to see at they do, as well as clicking on the various graphs, etc.

Having said that, there is a section within the "Idiots Guide" called 'QUICK PROFILES', which explains exactly what the differences are with Quick Profiles... guess you missed that bit when reading the guide?

I was referring to colour clip graph, not the RGB separation graph.

Just delete this thread.

The first part of my reply is true for the Clip Graph - on the 'User Guides & Downloads' page look at the first two guides.
(In this case the fist guide.)
Just click on the 'Clip Graph' image and it will explain what you are looking at.
That really should help.
