Penta or Flanders

Hi,

New to the forums here and am in the process of investigating the Penta pro line monitors. I have a 24" Flanders 2461W that I'm using as a primary grading monitor but am looking at replacing my panasonic plasma client monitor with a 47" Penta - or perhaps using the 47" Penta as the only monitor in the suite and moving the Flanders to another suite if the Penta is suitable for grading. Any opinions out there as to how the Penta and Flanders compare for the purpose of a color suite?

Thanks

Both the Penta and FSI are very good - very similar to be honest.

Hi Chris,

I was recently also doing some research between those two brands, allthough I currently own none of them and I'm looking for a 24" display.

I made up my mind and bought a Flanders CM240. Considering I was hearing/reading equally good things about the displays the choice for Flanders was really based on customer service, transparancy and calibration. I do not own a business where you'll be smart to invest in a +8.000 USD probe and CMS software, so I think their free calibration service is of big value. Plus it's just an hour by car from my house... But I still need to buy a car though

You don't need an $8000 probe, you need a $900 one (BasicColor Discus).

That said any Flanders monitor with Steve's new LUT mojo in the guts is a good buy.

LightSpace FSI Light with the i1 Display Pro is probably the best combination.
The i1 Display Pro has proven to be very accurate.

And not shipping the display around is better for the display, as when it is relocated you really need to re-profile!
