Hello folks,

I have just tried to calibrate my Philips 279P1 display, 4k Display with covering more than 100% of sRGB. Just to outline, what I have done:

• Using the Java Calibration Client on MacOS and Parallels with Windows 11 and the i1Display Pro
• Have set sRGB as Target at aiming vor 120cd/m2
• Have set white (255) to 120cd/m2 as well es IRE30 - using the controls of the display, mainly Brightness / Contrast
• Have used R/G/B controls (which are very basic) to get harmony on the white balance

Of course, the last two steps have been repeated.
The picture looks okay for me, nevertheless, the primary color of green is far away, with a dE of 13. The other primaries are looking little bit better, but not close to dE 2. The MacOS is having "sRGB IEC61966-2.1" as Profile.

Did I miss anything during calibration? Or where could I had next for?

Set your dE2000 as your error formula.

Using 2-Point RGB balance controls, you can fix only RGB balance errors, not gamma.

If you have 10 (or more) RGB balance controls, then you can fix gamma errors.

If you don't have 10 (or more) RGB balance controls, then see if you have gamma settings; measure them all to see which setting is tracking closer to your target gamma.

The color control (global) can be used to increase color luminance; if all your colors have lower measured Y compared to target Y, then adding some color, you can increase their luminance.

See your secondary colors in case you can improve with tint adjustments.

If you have full CMS controls, then you can fix primary (RGB) and then secondary colors (CMY).

I have set the Delta to version 2000. Besides that, I am running through the Characterization of the display...a lot of mismatches.

If you want to profile the monitor, pre-calibrate your 100% White RGB balance and define the peak output you want.

Check Contrast/Brightness and profile it.

Disable any color profile and set the monitor to have the widest gamut (native color gamut of the monitor)
