Hi !

I need some help to set my i1D3 inside LightSpace CMS HCL.

What are the best values for:

Integration Time
Extra Delay Time
Display Type
Calibration settings

I use a JVC X35 (video projector DILA) in a very dark room.

Thanks

Hi Alex,
I have replied to you e-mail question too.

But, D-ILA technology is rather unstable, so I would use 'Burst' mode, with a 1.75 sec integration time, no extra delay, and with Av. low light on.

Does that help?

For the "Integration Time" you can also try to optimize using this little formula:
100 x (1 / fps)

So for using the i1D3, and in case of displaying
-> 24hz = 4s, but it's ok to use 2s instead of.
-> 50hz = 2s
-> 60hz = 1,75s or maybe 1,5s

JVC's CMD / MPC (4k sim on X55/75/95) should be switched off.

Please note: LS has an internal probe reading start delay time of 0,5s (hard coded)
For my JVC X75 I prefere to set "Extra Delay Time" at 0,5s so in total it is 1s delay before the probe starts reading.
With that I got very stable readings.

And "burst" was also ok for my i1D3 (off screen measurements)

Thanks Harry

I'm doing a full profile in 1080p60 with 1.75s for the "Integration Time". I'll try your settings later on.

Sorry to bump an old thread

I have a similar question as the op with regards i1D3 values. I would like to know please what settings I should use for a Pioneer KRP-600a Plasma and a soon to be purchased Sony VW500es projector. Both in a batcave environment

Many Thanks

Ben

Hi,

There are no 'set' setting for the probe.
Some displays require some settings, other will be different.

With Plasmas we suggest non-contact mode with 'Burst' mode, and use the formula shown in the user manual to find the best 'integration' time.
See: http://www.lightillusion.com/forums/index.php?action=vthread&forum=8&topic=131

With projectors use settings that match the projector technology, again in non-contact mode.
Burst mode will probably be best, with an integration time approx. 1.75.
