i1 Display Pro "Password-Locked [505]" error?

I got this error while trying to use an i1 Display pro with lightspace for the first time today, has anyone else encountered this? I'm using parallels on a mac, and I assume that's the problem but I wanted to double check before I go make a boot camp partition and do all of that.

That suggests the i1 Display Pro is not a generic OEM model, but is a 'locked' one supplied from a company that has locked it to their own software.

If you have a true OEM model then I'm at a loss...

Yeah, it's the ONLY X-Rite probe with this... and I have no idea why they did it!
