eeColor LUT / Resolve display LUT = different results

Hi

I'm getting different results in the eeColor than DaVinci using the the 'same' LUT.
I have a LUT which is exported for eeColor and Resolve respectively and when tested against other in Quick Profile give markedly different outputs. The Resolve is about dead on rec709 but the same LUT in the eeColor is over saturated in all the primaries and max luma is 0.75 FTLs higher.

Here is the signal flow in both cases:

Resolve (with LUT) - BMD extreme 3D - AJA hi5 3D - eecolor (unity) - JVC RS55

Resolve (no LUT) - BMD extreme 3D - AJA hi5 3D - eecolor (LUT) - JVC RS55

Hi Michael,

Sounds like you have no used the 'VideoScale' function on the LUT before exporting from LightSpace for use in the eeColor LUT Box.

eeColor LUT Box LUT Format
Depending on the display and source in use (data range, or TV level) the eeColor LUT Box may requires LUTs in a particular data range.

For TV Levels, after the calibration LUT has been generated via LightSpace CMS in the normal way, use the 'Edit/LUT Manipulation/VideoScale' function to format the LUT data correctly.

For data range display workflows the re-scale will not be needed.

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks Steve.

Makes sense...

I'll give it a go and post back my results
