One of the growing changes with cinematography, brought about by the increase in Digital Cinematography, is the desire to start working on the 'look' of a project on-set.
There are a number of tools that can be used to perform this, but all tend to run into problems because of a lack of understanding about colour workflows, and the ability, or otherwise, to move on-set decisions into the final DI grading session.
There is a separate discussion to be had about the benefits of attempting to set a look on-set, but for those who find benefit with this approach these is a lot that can be done with the likes of LightSpace CMS to generate on-set looks, combined with SpaceMan ICC to allow looks (LUTs) to be converted into ICC profiles for viewing in ICC Profile compliant systems.
See: LightSpace CMS and SpaceMan ICC for more info.
