Real-Time 4K/2K/HD/SD Digital Intermediate and Stereo 3D...

The underlying hardware configuration for any Mistika system defines the real-time capabilities, with storage configuration defining the main level of real-time resolution capability, on top of which will be similar levels of real-time creativity.

So, for example, the following is the basic configuration for a real-time HD/2K system:

HD/2K real-time is the minimum configuration for Mistika, and uses the above hardware configuration. It enables real-time HD and 2K DPX operation, with real-time creative tools, depending on the total tool in use at any given time (see Mistika - Real-Time for examples of real-time creative operation).

• Nvidia Quadro 5800 - or better - graphics card
• DVS Centaurus II video card
• Tangent Control Panel
• Fibre Switch
• 1 Disc Array (SATAII discs) - 16TB

To move to real-time multi-layer HD/2K effects, and real-time stereoscopic 3D capability, the following is the required minimum configuration, which is the simple addition of another disk array:

• Tangent Control Panel
• Fibre Switch
• 2 Disc Array (SATAII discs) - 32TB

Real-time 4K requires the same basic configuration as above, but with SAS 15Krpm discs.

• 2 Disc Array (SAS 15Krpm discs) - 32TB

From these starting points Mistika can Expand to include multiple workstations and expanded storage, but importantly still as a single volume.

Again, the important thing to remember is that all the hardware is off-the-shelf, keeping hardware upgrade costs to the minimum.

It is also worth remembering that depending of the operational needs of a given facility/post house some Mistika items are optional - for example if grading is not a critical requirement the DI 'option' and associated Tangent Panels may not be required.
