Dell UP2516D calibration?

I have a Dell monitor that I want to use with Resolve. It has "calibration" features using it's own i1 profiler software built into the monitor, but it has produced different results with each use. I've also read on these forums that it's not entirely reliable anyway since it only produces an ICC profile which you can't upload to a monitor like you can a 3D LUT. I guess my question is whether or not I'm able to create a 3D LUT and upload that to the display, or if I should just leave the display on the "standard" setting and apply a 3D LUT in the Resolve viewer (I only have one monitor so I can't use it as a standalone reference display).

You will need to turn off all the 'calibration' within the display, and remove any/all ICC profiles from within the PC, and use a 3D LUT in Resolve.

Thanks! Do I have to connect that display using a Mini Monitor in order for the 3D LUT to work? Or can I just apply it in Resolve settings and have it work in the GUI monitor? (if that makes sense)

You just apply the LUT within Resolve.
Resolve can have a LUT for a GUI display, and/or a main grading display.
