Canon 4K Reference Monitor

Hello Guys!

I'm just simply interested on your thoughts on this article/monitor:

They say: " its 4K picture is as good as, and matches exactly, any 4K grading digital projection system".

I see and undertsand the numbers, but aren't they rather doing the marketing talk? How can a 30 inch monitor outperform a big movie theater screen? You can't have the same perception on two different sizes right?

We have yet to assess this display, so can't presently comment.

But, we fully agree that no 30" display can ever be regarded as being suitable for a large grading room environment, with all the associated hanger-on that will need to be involved in the grade.

And further agree the 'impact' a small image has on your perception of the grade is significantly different to that of a much larger screen.

As you say, marketing bollox!
